Shane English School, Hangzhou

Eastern China|Zhejiang

Introduction

Shane English School Hangzhou is a franchise of Shane English Schools China. The company was established in 1977 and now has nearly 200 schools in Japan alone, as well as schools in Taiwan, China, South Africa, New Zealand and the UK. There are currently several Shane Schools in China itself, in cities including Beijing, Suzhou and Hangzhou, with the head office located in Shanghai. There are excellent career opportunities with Shane for those interested in a career in education or educational management. The school is professionally run with joint western/Chinese management, and ongoing educational support and training is provided to teachers.

Hangzhou is a beautiful city famous in China for its scenery and West Lake. It offers the attractions both of traditional China, with its temples and tea-houses, and a modern international city with all the necessary facilities. Teachers coming to Hangzhou will be able to experience real China and yet maintain the comfortable lifestyle they were used to at home.

The Hangzhou Shane school works in partnership with Zhejiang Cherry Foreign language school, a long established (over 10 years) private language school with an excellent reputation throughout the province.

The majority of our students are younger learners, between 8 and 12 years old, although we do teach a full range of ages from 3 years old to adults. Coursebooks and all the resources you would expect in a modern school are provided. The school emphasizes quality of education above all, and most of our students continue to study at the school for term after term.
