A wonderful class
October 12th, we went to Hangzhou QiHang Middle School to listen to an English teacher from Helen Group.
When I walked into the classroom with the teacher Miss Ma, Mr. Thabo had already started to interact with the students in the classroom. When the bell rang, teacher Thabo said "Hello!" to the students. "Good afternoon", he continued, and the students answered "Good afternoon" in chorus.
Then, teacher Thabo made a small game called "Hide and Seek" to attract students' attention. He called three students to come on stage. They have to find a partner and remember his or her location.
Then the teacher blindfolded the students on the stage and asked them to go and find their partner. During this time, the students were excited and deliberately asked their partner to change positions to confuse them.
After this game, students have a high level of participation, and everyone is actively involved in it, which has achieved the effect of pre-class warm-up.
Theme : Holiday
Mr. Thabo asked the students, "Where did go on holiday?
“I went to Beijing.”
“I went to Anhui.”
"I went to Anhui." the students answered.
Mr. Thabo gave the students some paper he had prepared, which had topics and questions about the class.
Here are some questions about travel
“Who did you go with?
How did you get there?
How long did the trip take?
where did you stay?”
Mr. Thabo allowed the students to write their own answers on their own paper. Then he asked one of student to stand up and find a partner.
Thabo's class is diverse and rich in content, which combines the theme teaching with practice teaching. He stars asking questions to warm up before class, then continues with a series of questions about travelling. It can be seen that his class is systematic and prominent. That is why teachers and students appreciate and love him deeply.
