Foreign teachers sharing theirs working secrets
In this new semester, Zhejiang University Helen Chinatefl Company makes active response to the management requirements of Shenzhen Bao’an Education Bureau for foreign teachers. With the help of Bao’an Education Bureau and our BPO schools, we spare no effort to organize teaching and researching activities every Wednesday afternoon for all of our foreign teachers in Bao’an District.
With our efforts, the first teaching and researching activity of Zhejiang University Helen Chinatefl Company Shenzhen Branch was held successfully in Shenzhen Xiwan Primary School on March 1st and Miss Wu from Bao’an Education and Science Researching and Training Center also attended our activity.
Firstly, the teaching supervisor Mr.Zhou of Helen Company who worked as host today introduced the participants and the process of the activity. Then the foreign expert of our company, Karl gave his wonderful open class to us. His main steps of teaching process were listed as follows: 1.He used English songs related to the class as warming-up. 2. He used materials to teach English reading and to develop the ability of thinking for the students. 3. He paid attention to the vocabulary, the pronunciation, the intonation and the grammar and held an interesting game for the students. His demonstration was very lively and practical. Sometimes he was teaching with passion and sometimes he was writing down the key points on the blackboard. Meanwhile, all the students were listening carefully, making their notes and thinking actively.
After his open class, Mr. Zhou asked other teachers to talk about their opinions. Sasa, who came from Xinhu School stood up and expressed his admiration for the splendid class of Karl. What’s more, he shared with us his experience and feelings of his teaching in Xinhu School.
Later the supervisor of our company, Mr.Zhou gave us another wonderful speech. According to three types of situation, Mr.Zhou did a professional learning guidance about normal teaching for foreign teachers. In his opinion, the class management is the key of organizing teaching activity. In addition, the foreign teachers should set an example by their actions: pay attention to sense of time and teaching efficiency, observe class rules, behave and speak properly, use their body language. Besides, he thinks the foreign teachers should apply different methods to their teaching according to the mental characteristics of students and the actual teaching tasks. If the teachers can teach their students in accordance with aptitude, the solutions are always more than the problems. In the end, Mr.Zhou received warm applause from all the foreign teachers.
Through this teaching and researching activity, the foreign teachers got together and learned a lot from the open class and the speech. They had more chances to communicate with each other about the teaching problems and shared their teaching experience in the school.
