On the afternoon of June 9, on behalf of Zhejiang University, Vice President Lai Maode signed an agreement on academic exchange with President Yashushi Saito of Chiba University, Japan. The two sides jointly announced the establish of International Exchange Center of Chiba University and Zhejiang University.
Chiba University was founded in 1901. As a leading institution of higher education in Japan, it has 9 faculties covering Letters, Education, Law and Economics, Science, Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Engineering and Horticulture. Its Department of Design is the first one in Japan and is also acknowledged as one of the 30 best Departments of Design around the world.
The academic exchange between Zhejiang University and Chiba University started from 2007. The agreement signed this time will further promote students and teachers’ exchange programs, collaborative research, publishing and so on. International Exchange Center of Chiba University and Zhejiang University will specifically manage the exchange and cooperation between two universities.
