Student Exchange in Zhejiang University

1. Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech

Zhejiang University and Czech Technical University signed the Memorandum of Student Exchange Program in 2005. According to the Memorandum, each university may send/receive up to 5 full time undergraduate or graduate students for the academic year. The duration of the stay for the exchange students is one academic semester. Students have to bear the travel and living expenses by themselves, while they will not be charged tuition fees by the host university.

2. Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University, Russia

In 2005 and 2006, Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University offered Cultural summer program which lasted four weeks to ZJU students. 16 students from ZJU in total joined the program in Saint-Petersburg and got the international round tickets as a scholarship from the China Scholarship Council.

From 2005 the two universities also started the student exchange program. ZJU exchange students got the scholarship from the China Scholarship Council as well. A balance in the number of the exchange students between the two universities has been maintained through negotiation.

3. Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary

The Memorandum of Understanding on Student Exchange Program between Zhejiang University and Budapest University of Technology and Economics was concluded in 2007. In accordance with the MoU, the two universities will start sending/receiving up to 4 undergraduate or graduate students every year in 2008. The duration of the stay for the exchange students is one academic semester. Students have to bear the travel and living expenses by themselves, while they will not be charged tuition fees by the host university.


4. National University of Singapore

Zhejiang University and National University of Singapore signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Summer Program in 2004. Before 2007, ZJU sent 10 students to NUS for the three-week program every year. This year, ZJU has sent 5 students to NUS.


5. Hokkaido University, Japan

Zhejiang University and Hokkaido University signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Student Exchange in 2007. According to the Memorandum, each university may send/receive up to 5 full time students for the academic year. The duration of the stay for the exchange students is one academic year. Students have to bear the travel and living expenses by themselves, while they will not be charged tuition fees by the host university.


6. Tohoku University, Japan

Zhejiang University and Tohoku University signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Student Exchange in 2001. According to the Memorandum, each university may send/receive up to 5 full time students for the academic year. The duration of the stay for the exchange students is one academic year. Students have to bear the travel and living expenses by themselves, while they will not be charged tuition fees by the host university.


7. Waseda University, Japan

Zhejiang University and Waseda University signed the Memorandum of Understanding in 2001. In accordance with the MoU, each university may send/receive up to 2 full time students for the academic year. The maximum duration of the stay for the exchange students is one academic year. Students have to bear the travel and living expenses by themselves, while they will not be charged tuition fees by the host university.


8. Nagoya University, Japan

Zhejiang University and Nagoya University signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Student Exchange in 2001. According to the Memorandum, each university may send/receive up to 5 full time students for the academic year. The maximum duration of the stay for the exchange students is one academic year. Students have to bear the travel and living expenses by themselves, while they will not be charged tuition fees by the host university.


9. Kyushu University, Japan

Zhejiang University and Kyushu University signed the Student Exchange Agreement in 2002. According to the Agreement, each university may send/receive up to 2 full time students for the academic year. The maximum duration of the stay for the exchange students is one academic year. Students have to bear the travel and living expenses by themselves, while they will not be charged tuition fees by the host university.


10.Fukui University, Japan

Zhejiang University and Kukui University signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Student Exchange in 1996. According to the MoU, each university may send/receive up to 3 full time students for the academic year. The maximum duration of the stay for the exchange students is one academic year. Students have to bear the travel and living expenses by themselves, while they will not be charged tuition fees by the host university.


11.Shizuoka University, Japan

Zhejiang University and Shizuoka University signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Student Exchange in 1999. According to the MoU, each university may send/receive up to 4 full time students for the academic year. The maximum duration of the stay for the exchange students is one academic year. Students have to bear the travel and living expenses by themselves, while they will not be charged tuition fees by the host university.
